As of writing the Lazada Birthday Sale is coming, and many of us may have already started adding things to our shopping carts. To make our shopping experience lighter and more carefree, we prepared this short list of tips on how to look for legitimate sellers in Lazada.

1. If it’s too good to be true, maybe it is?

In general, sellers want to make the most out of each product sold, so think again if one item is sold very cheaply compared to the exact same product from most of its competitors. It might be better not just to look at price when you consider your options.

2. Social proof.

Lazada has its own system of user-generated reviews for each seller and product. Check out the profile page of the seller by going to their store page and clicking near their logo area so that you can see their metrics. You should see something that looks like this.

The profile gives you a wealth of information so you can gauge the seller. You can see the main category the seller is involved in.  It’s suggested to choose a seller with a track record. You can check the number of years they have been on Lazada. You can see the percentage of their Positive Seller Ratings. You can read their reviews. You can also check their chat response time, response rate, and their ship on-time rate.

Try chatting with them to see if they will be responsive. Many stores are operated by one person so sometimes it’s understandable if there are delays in the response. You can get a sense if a seller is sincere through messaging.

Check their reviews. It would be good to see if the reviews are authentic. It should come from different people and contain different ways of expressing the good or bad points. No seller is perfect and they can’t please everybody but as a personal benchmark, we ourselves only buy from sellers with positive ratings above 90%. This is all subject to your personal preference.

On the product level, it also has its own reviews. You can use these to assess if you can trust the seller.

3. Look at the product pictures and details.

With a bit of research, you can save yourself time and worry by looking at the product pictures and reading the product details. Look for sellers who took the time and effort to make their own product photos and descriptions. Sometimes, there are those who merely copy and paste from other sellers. It would be better to deal with a seller who is mindful of the customer experience and provides the information needed to guide you in the decision.

Not everything is in the product details though so it may also help to chat with the seller.

Conclusion

We hope that this post has been helpful to you. We know that many of us have been forced to adjust our lifestyles and how we buy things due to the pandemic. Online shopping need not be another change we have to fear as long as we stay careful and we do our research prior. If you have a food business looking for a convenient way of ordering reasonably-priced, restaurant-grade, takeout boxes, utensils, garbage bags and other non-food supplies, go check out our Lazada store.
